We discovered a gem in durham. The restaurant feels like home, the staff are very friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. I recommend the restaurant to all.

Incredible food, very attentive and caring service, better than many of the high end restaurants in Toronto. The French onion soup is one of the best tasting soups I have ever tasted. A must try restaurant!

This is unusual! We have eaten here several times and the food is excellent! The table service was great. So we said let’s get a gift card for $50 for our friend since she also liked the food etc. NOOOO! “We don’t do gift cards” was the answer on the phone! “Can’t you give us a business card and sign it to say pre-paid $50, NOOOO, “ we don’t do gift cards.” I guess they would rather we spend our money somewhere else! We’ll also share this story!

Regularly go there for Saturday brunch. Chef Simon and his crew turn out amazing eats! Mary makes you feel like part of the family. Such a wonderful hidden gem in Courtice!

Finally, a proper fry-up in Canada! After 13 years here, I’ve finally found somewhere that offers a full English breakfast including beans, mushrooms, proper sausage, bacon and even a fried slice. The Cumberland sausage was particularly lovely and makes me continually wonder why we don’t see nice sausages like this in supermarkets. Absolutely lovely. A thoroughly enjoyable meal, great service and great spot in Courtice. My wife will also be happy because I won’t have to bring my own beans in a flask to restaurants anymore ;-)

We decided to try this place on a whim to celebrate our 10-year wedding anniversary — and we’re so glad we did. The food was absolutely phenomenal. I had the salmon, and my husband ordered the steak special. Both were cooked to perfection, with sides that were incredibly flavorful and delicious. My mimosa was expertly made with quality champagne, and the service throughout the evening was exceptional. The wait staff were attentive, checking in regularly to make sure everything was to our liking, and even the chef came out to see how we were enjoying our meal — a lovely personal touch. The restaurant itself is quaint, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The only minor downside is that the tables are quite close together, but that's understandable given the limited space. Overall, I would highly recommend this spot for a beautifully cooked meal made with fresh, local ingredients. A perfect choice for a special evening out.

I love this place for quick business meetups and to spoil special guests. The food is always delicious, plated beautifully and just minutes from my work. Easy lunch hour stop and packaged food to go as well.
